“And in every work that he [Hezekiah] began in the service of the house of God, and in the law, and in the commandments, to seek his God, he did it with all his heart, and prospered.” (2 Chronicles 31:21 KJV)
King Hezekiah had previously revived the Passover ceremonies, leading to a revolution in his nation. In this chapter we find him reappointing people to run the temple services, and calling for the appropriate things to be provided for these workers. And guess what? They received abundantly more than was needed! There were “heaps” left, for which storehouses had to be made.
Now how did Hezekiah just walk up, say a few things, and start a mass movement? The answer is he didn’t. Remember what that verse said? “And in every work that he began in the service of the house of God . . . he did it with all his heart, and prospered.” He put all of his heart into it, doing it for God, and he prospered.
You may be just a man, but if you put your heart and soul into God’s service, He can work mighty things. Our Father rejoices to bless us and to provide for our need. The problem is we always want what has not been prepared for us. The blessings of the feast of God is that God turns towards our effort. Our selfless act of desiring to honor God through our worship. The feast also celebrate the goodness of God. Finally, the Feast come with a specific blessing for the children of God. Remember that God's love language is obedience.
